Job Overview- The Media Department Manager will oversee the planning, development, and execution of all media-related activities within the FORWARDER network. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery of our magazine, directory, app, events, and digital marketing efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in media management, marketing, sales, and team leadership, and be capable of implementing effective systems to ensure clear communication and coordination across the team and the wider group. Key Responsibilities Media Product Management. Oversee the production and publication of FORWARDER magazine, ensuring high-quality content and timely releases. Manage the development and maintenance of the FORWARDER directory and app, ensuring they meet user needs and industry standards. Source appropriate venues to host our famous networking events, liaising with catering, entertainment, and AV suppliers. Event Management. Plan, coordinate, and execute FORWARDER in-person events to enhance brand visibility and audience engagement. Plan marketing campaigns for events, manage ticket and guest administration, and organize panel discussions and mastermind rounds. Take responsibility for profit and loss associated with events, ensuring financial objectives are met. Explore opportunities for hosting virtual events in the future. Digital Marketing. Develop and implement e-shots and email campaigns to promote FORWARDER products and events. Monitor and analyse the performance of digital marketing efforts, using insights to optimize future campaigns. Sales Management. Drive sales efforts for FORWARDER events, including ticket sales and sponsorships. Develop and promote network membership options for ongoing revenue. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners to ensure continued support and engagement. Track and report on sales performance, identifying areas for improvement and growth. Account Management. Ensure clients and network members receive the benefits they are signed up for. Keep clients and members updated with the success of their email campaigns. Remind clients and members periodically to send their press releases. Ensure members feel valued and get a return on their investment, fostering strong, lasting relationships. Team Leadership. Lead, mentor, and manage a team of media professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring they have the resources and skills needed to succeed. Implement systems to ensure clear communication and coordination across the team and wider group. Strategic Planning. Develop and execute a comprehensive media strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives. Identify new opportunities for growth and expansion within the media landscape. Budget Management. Manage the media department's budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost-effective operations. Prepare and present regular financial reports to senior management. Stakeholder Collaboration. Work closely with other departments, including sales, marketing, and editorial, to ensure cohesive and integrated media strategies. Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners and stakeholders. Social Media and Promotion. Become the "face" of FORWARDER, representing the brand in various media formats. Create and manage promotional content, primarily using LinkedIn, to engage and grow our audience. Qualifications Friendly, outgoing, and adaptable. Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
