The Company and Role
A well-established world-leading manufacturer looking for a PCB Design Engineer to join the team.
The role will involve designing PCB layouts, electrical schematics, and electrical diagrams, assisting in mechanical design, and supporting Manufacturing Engineering.
Main Responsibilities:
1. PCB design for high voltage power supplies and control electronics.
2. Schematic entry from design engineering sketches.
3. Creating and modifying 3D models and assemblies including piece part information.
4. Generating and maintaining part information and bills of materials.
5. Maintaining PCB library.
6. Maintaining the DCC drawing system.
7. Producing system schematics, wiring diagrams, and schedules.
8. Responsibility for adhering to the Company’s ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental, and Health and Safety management systems.
9. Keep informed and support ISO 9001 Quality and ISO 14001 Environmental requirements and improvement activities. Commit to achieving the Company business, Quality, and Environmental objectives and policies.
10. The above responsibilities are not exhaustive, and you may be required to fulfill other duties and responsibilities from time to time for which you are reasonably qualified.
11. Provide reliable and quantifiable estimated labor times for assembling new products.
12. Contribute to specifying process consumables used throughout the company.
13. Implement effective configuration and data management processes.
14. Specify and procure necessary tooling requirements.
15. Offer support to production staff as needed.
16. Identify and eliminate waste in all engineering processes.
Skills and Experience:
HNC or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
Proven expertise and experience in PCB design (preferably to IPC Standard) and mechanical design with knowledge of analogue, digital, and surface mount technologies.
Computer literate with knowledge of MS Office.
Proficiency in CAD packages for PCB and mechanical design (experience in Cadstar, eCadstar, Board Modeller, Inventor, and AutoCAD are a distinct advantage).
