We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Commercial Manager to join our MOJ contract, supporting our Complex Facilities team on a full time, permanent basis. This role will be based in Birmingham.
The role of the Senior Commercial Manager is to provide commercial oversight and support for our minor works and reactive workstreams. You will be accountable for implementing strategy and will be responsible for coaching and developing the commercial team.
You will be developing client relationships to support a successful account delivery as well as aiding change and conflict management.
The standard hours of work are based on 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
Your Responsibilities:
* Implementing and driving consistency of commercial processes
* Managing risk within the workstream using the businesses risk management tools.
* Assessing supplier quotations and payment applications
* Implementing good commercial practices to drive continuous improvement within the business
* Working with Finance to ensure the full cost control of project(s) including providing and monitoring budgets, forecasts, producing monthly CVR reporting and WIP management.
* Assisting and advising the senior Commercial and Operational leads in ensuring timely issuing of all notices required under the Contract(s).
* Assessing and reporting on supply chain & client compensation events.
* Ensuring all contemporary records are kept by the project team members for use in supporting any such claims and/or in the evaluation of variations.
* Ensuring all KPI’s are actively managed, reported and applied.
* Ensuring all Application for Payment are made timely, inclusive of Anticipated Final Account, and pursue payments in accordance with the Contract(s).
* Supporting the Bid and Estimating Teams in winning strategic bids by supporting the development of the right commercial solutions which cascade into post contract delivery.
* Ensuring that all supply chain is procured correctly and that sub-contractors are well managed in line with the required outcomes and fair payment requirements.
* Undertaking people management duties including Performance Development Reviews for direct reports promoting Amey’s Inclusion and Diversity policy and encouraging an open and honest environment within the team.

* A degree in quality surveying, commercial or related discipline
* Awareness of industry issues
* Microsoft Office experience, in particular Excel and Word
