We are currently recruiting a LGV Driver to join our clients waste management team based in Peterhead. Job Purpose: Drive and operate waste vacuum road tankers, curtained-sided vehicles and vans as required. Provide on-site customer care, information and support. Ensure all instructions given by line manager are adhered to and carried out in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the company HSEQ procedures. Roles & Responsibilities Operate vehicles in a safe and effective manner to minimise the risk of injury or damage to other vehicles and property Tanker Operations ensuring safe handling and transportation of a wide range of hazardous materials and products Operation of curtain sided trailers Inspection and maintenance of associated accessories and equipment including pumps, valves, tanks, vessels, hoses and couplings Respond courteously and effectively to all reasonable customer demands Carriage of Dangerous Goods in line with ADR regulations Accept, start and complete all relevant deliveries and collections using the Transport Management System (TMS) via an APP on the vehicle phone Ensure signatures are obtained within the TMS system via the App as proof of delivery Completion and processing of all relevant customer and regulatory paperwork Ensure that all activity is co-ordinated in accordance with relevant company guidelines and statutory regulations Attend team brief / safety meetings as required Continually review performance identifying areas for improvement Ensure high standards of housekeeping are maintained with all areas of responsibility To be aware of existing company and external body agreements Regular overnight trips within the UK Any other reasonable tasks required by line management Minimum Qualifications Class 1 LGV Licence Certificate of Professional Competence Card ADR Dangerous Goods by Road Certificate Minimum Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours) Maintains positive work relationships Up to date knowledge of changes in road traffic laws Ability to communicate at all levels with customers Reliable and degree of flexibility Ability to work unsupervised Customer focused To be operationally aware Manual handling Equality & Diversity Desirable Qualifications/Competencies Experience of road tanker operations including the transport and safe handling of flammable/corrosive/toxic materials Thorough understanding of waste documentation and special waste handling Thoroughly familiar with relevant safety procedures for tanker and waste operations
