Service Manager Job Profile Salary: Starting salary £33,361, rising to £36,995 after 12 months and rising to £38,152 after a further 12 months Main Purpose We are looking to recruit an experienced Service Manager with the ability to be a visual leader who can also think and act strategically. The successful candidate will have experience in managing services which support people to manage multiple complexities whilst ensuring a proactive approach to addressing health inequalities. They will be used to having the responsibility and accountability for quality, financial sustainability and performance as well as taking proactive action when needed. Relevant experience in supporting people with a learning disability, autism and a severe and enduring mental illness is essential along with a strong understanding of the Health and Social Care Act 2012, Positive Behaviour Support, Trauma informed practice and psychological interventions. Specific Tasks Be the main point of contact for the services within your remit, the people it supports, staff and stakeholders. Continually monitor the service provided to ensure it meets the agreed standards and leads to continuous improvement. Supervise the Team Leader and take overall responsibility for the supervision of project staff, ensuring this is completed in keeping with policies and procedures and good practice. Coach staff to maximise performance within the project and facilitate group reflective practice. Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, supporting the development of comprehensive risk assessment and support plans in order to support and guide the team with the most complex cases. Work creatively with colleagues and people using the service through consultative and participatory activities to develop and expand our model of delivery across the organisation and reduce inequality and disadvantage. Plan, design, communicate and deliver a range of suitable activities that meet the needs and aspirations of the people using the service. Promote the service to a wide and relevant audience including commissioners and external stakeholders. Be a strong role model within the organisation, always displaying the companies’ values whilst also continually working on personal development, keeping abreast of developing better practice. Investigate and strive to resolve any complaints to identify and implement continuous service improvement. Recruit and appraise staff and develop their capacity to work successfully, championing staff wellbeing and resilience. Manage the performance of the team so that it provides consistent support and achieves targets, and the standards expected. Monitor expenditure compared to budget, take action to ensure the service remains within targets set and in turn, ensure the service can continue to support the people in service. Ensure regular risk assessments and risk reviews of the service and its activities including those relating to the people the service supports. Devise and implement actions to mitigate risk to ensure the health and safety of those using the service, staff and visitors. Ensure that all records (relating to people supported, staff, service specific plans) are accurate, kept up to date and are shared with and communicated to others where appropriate to do so. Ensure that all monitoring and data returns are completed accurately and returned on time, and that appropriate data capture systems are in place and up to date. Produce regular, high-quality reports for internal and external bodies so that project performance is reported accurately and on time. Keep up to date with any relevant health and safety developments, changes in legislation or good practice. Attend as required, meetings, conferences, seminars, training on behalf of Target Housing. Facilitate continual professional development through intensive training programs. Oversee the support to people to ensure that staff are taking a personalised approach to their individual needs, aspirations and wishes. Develop and implement a strategy to ensure people we support are abled to be involved and participate in how the service operates. Develop Quality Assurance systems as requested and required. Help in the monitoring and management of quality assurance in the delivery of our services. Build links with external organisations, to maintain constructive working relationships to ensure that not only a persons needs are met but that they are done so in keeping with their aspirations, wishes and preferences. Participate in the local ‘On call’ rota in order to ensure support to staff who are working nights and weekends. Perform other duties as required to further the aims of Target Housing. Adhere to and Implement Target Housing policies and procedures. Monitor practice to ensure effective implementation and compliance. Contribute to the development of new policies and procedures. Person specifications At least 3 years’ experience in the management of supported living, supported housing and / or CQC registered services. 5 Years’ experience of supporting people with multiple complex needs including those hard to reach who may struggle to engage. Relevant experience of working in health and social care, commissioning, and development of service provision. Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in order to achieve better outcomes. Experience in building professional relationships to enable service growth and development. Relevant qualifications and / or knowledge in specialist areas such as Nursing, Social Work, Criminal Justice, Substance Misuse, Dual Diagnosis, Domestic Violence, ABI, Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, Homelessness and Welfare benefits Experience in lone working with vulnerable people. Experience in facilitating staff development. Ability to record, audit and analyse peoples support, use I.T system and develop and present reports.
