Job Description: Print Support Technician at Smurfit Westrock

Role Overview:
The successful candidate will understand daily Make Ready performance requirements for each press to meet operational expectations aligned with business targets. The role involves supporting printers to improve make ready times, material yield, run speeds, and reduce downtime, implementing processes to achieve and maintain high performance levels.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support Print Operators in achieving Make Ready & Downtime targets, considering the PMR role's contribution to these metrics.
2. Efficiently manage Make Ready and Wash Up tasks to ensure continuous press operation.
3. Ensure all Make Ready, Wash Up, and assistance tasks meet Shift Team Leader expectations.
4. Use electronic production plans to gather job materials from specification files.
5. Prepare cylinders and magnetic dies, mount plates accurately utilizing mounting cameras, and ensure proper plate cutting.
6. Manage tools and prepare trolleys for press operators.
7. Perform wash-up procedures post-print jobs, including cleaning ink trays and anilox rollers.
8. Strip and clean used plates, document, and store them appropriately.
9. Assist in reducing press downtime by supporting the printer during Make Ready and wash-up, ensuring readiness for subsequent jobs.
10. Handle deliveries and material movement as needed, including operating forklifts and managing waste bins.
11. Maintain availability of consumables and perform weekly stock checks in collaboration with Goods In.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Experience in high-volume, low-cost manufacturing environments.
2. FLT license is advantageous but not mandatory; training provided.
3. Effective communication and teamwork skills.
4. Ability to work independently and follow procedures.
5. Open to adopting new methods and achieving daily targets.
6. Physical capability to perform role-specific tasks.
