Job Description
As a Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the quality and reliability of the components that contribute to the world-class buses and coaches we produce. Your role will involve collaboration with suppliers, internal teams, and stakeholders to establish and maintain stringent quality standards across our supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of potential suppliers to ensure alignment with company quality standards.
2. Work closely with the procurement team during supplier selection and on-boarding processes.
3. Define and communicate clear quality standards and specifications to suppliers, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
4. Perform regular on-site and remote audits of supplier facilities to assess adherence to quality systems and processes.
5. Collaborate with suppliers to address non-compliance issues and implement corrective actions.
6. Develop and implement robust quality control plans in collaboration with suppliers.
7. Monitor the effectiveness of these plans through data analysis and key performance indicators.
8. Identify opportunities for improvement in supplier quality processes and actively work with suppliers to implement changes.
9. Lead initiatives focused on continuous improvement to enhance overall supplier performance.
10. Investigate and resolve quality issues through comprehensive root cause analysis.
11. Implement corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurring problems.
12. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, engineering, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless communication and alignment on quality requirements.
Skills Profile
1. Experience of working in a similar industry background advantageous.
2. Ability to read Engineering drawings.
3. Awareness of Spray-Painting techniques would be an advantage but not essential.
4. In the absence of any formal qualifications, practical Quality experience in a manufacturing environment would be a must.
5. IT literate, comfortable with Microsoft Office.
6. Experience in the use of Quality tools and techniques would be advantageous (PPAP, 8D, DFMEA, PFMEA) and have a strong problem-solving and analytic skill-set.
7. Trained Auditor to ISO9001:2015, minimum Internal Auditing but ideally Lead Auditing.
