This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading Media Relations team in a newly created Consumer PR role. The role is responsible for managing and executing highly innovative, head-turning consumer PR campaigns that enhance Nationwide's new brand. We are looking for a creative, energetic professional to help us make an impact in mainstream consumer media and social media by generating eye-catching ideas which reach new, younger audiences. This role will work closely with the wider Media Relations, social media and marketing teams on integrated marketing and PR campaigns. The role will manage and work alongside our Consumer PR agency. As well as planning a drumbeat of consumer-focused news, you will also be responsible for identifying spontaneous opportunities to capitalise on the news agenda and social media trends. This role requires a flair for storytelling and passion for innovation and creativity. It will require strong leadership and an understanding of earned media, social media and influencer activity. This role is in the Brand, Marketing and Corporate Affairs team which is responsible for maintaining Nationwide's brand and reputation both internally and externally. What you'll be doing Creating and managing innovative campaign ideas to make an impact with consumer and social media. Managing and working closely with our Consumer PR agency to deliver against agreed briefs and KPIs. Working collaboratively with the broader brand, social and marketing teams on integrated campaigns. Writing campaign plans and copy for media including press releases, statements, opinion pieces and Q&As. Advising internal stakeholders on PR opportunities and challenges, preparing spokespeople for media engagement. Building and maintaining strong relationships with media and internal stakeholders. Supporting on issues and crisis management. Working as part of a busy press office, responding to journalist enquiries, as appropriate. About you Passionate about news, social media and consumer marketing campaigns. Highly creative with a flair for storytelling. Ability to write engaging and concise copy. Experienced in creating and running high profile, national consumer PR campaigns. Positive, can-do attitude, willing to 'get stuck in' in a fast-paced environment. An excellent news-sense with a strong network of consumer journalist contacts. Demonstrable experience managing and working with Consumer PR agencies, alongside broader social, brand and marketing teams and agencies. Experienced in social media and working with talent and influencers. Confident in engaging the most senior stakeholders, supported by strong negotiation and influencing skills. Strategic thinker with excellent judgement. Skilled at co-ordinating multi-channel activity while collaborating with multiple internal teams. An ability to write and speak clearly and effectively, adapting your style to suit the audience. Excellent planning and organisational skills and ability to manage budgets and multiple competing priorities and deliverables.
