Having recently completed significant transformation of our procurement team, including investment in our core procurement process and systems, the successful candidate will be responsible for realising the return from that investment, as well as working to define and deploy ongoing improvement and innovation. Core to this will be alignment with the bank’s wider technology agenda, and will include overseeing the application of automation, intelligence, and simplification to day-to-day buying, working closely with our growing network of delivery partners, both on-and offshore. Given the centrality of buying behaviours and execution to the bank’s strategy and daily operations, you will be required to use your expertise, leadership, and communication skills to influence and support a wide range of senior stakeholders. This is a role where you can make an immediate impact on a broad scale.
The difference you’ll make:
1. Leading a team of + procurement professional plus a network of outsourced delivery partners to deliver a high-quality buying service to the business and stakeholders
2. Delivering an exceptional end user buying experience that is efficient and compliant, comprised of lean process, high-quality systems, the correct procurement content, and that ultimately drives value for the bank while reducing end-to-end cycle times
3. Facilitating cross-functional working with other departments (IT, Finance, Treasury) to define business requirements and design solutions that increase efficiencies whilst maintaining controls
4. Developing process and control reports and dashboards and operational processes to ensure there are reviews of outliers and exception management
5. Managing all Procurement systems and vendors ensuring continuity of system availability and system controls are effective including user profile management in line with the IT target operating model and any applicable policies
What you’ll bring:
6. Extensive experience leading operational procurement activities in a financial services or regulatory environment, or management consultancy experience at the intersection of financial services, operational buying, contracting and procurement systems
7. Expertise in SAP Ariba software suite, Globality, Service Now, Vizibl and EcoVadis
It would also be nice for you to have:
8. Extensive knowledge of accounting, internal controls and management principles and accounts payable procedures
9. Executive presence, leadership skills to achieve meaningful outcomes with business partnering and adaptability to support evolving regulatory needs
10. Experience managing third party BPO providers to achieve operational excellence and transformation objectives
11. Qualification in Procurement or Contract Management
