Job Description
Laboratory Managers - Safety Containment Level 4. (Dstl can use the title Workplace/Laboratory Managers)
In this role you will:
* Allocate appropriate space for work activities within a work area to operational users and ensure that the allocated space is fit for purpose;
* Ensure a safe and secure system of work within the allocated work place by fulfilling the WPM H&S Roles - Responsibilities and Accountabilities outlined. Key working interfaces with other roles at Dstl are mapped here and the ‘Working Safely at Dstl’ process to achieve the Safe and Secure system of work;
* Manage the workplace to ensure that the requirements of the safe system of work can be met;
* Verify with the user that the planned work can be completed within the defined operating envelope for the facility.

Person Specification
You will have:
* Experience working within high-hazard environments, conducting risk assessments and identifying hazards.
* For the microbiology role you will have experience with high-containment ACDP levels 3 or 4.
* Effective communication skills.

Selection Process Details
This vacancy is using Success Profiles, and will assess your Behaviours, Experience and Technical skills.
Sifting will take place week commencing the w/c 28th April 2025 with interviews to be arranged between the 12th and the 16th May 2025. Please allow 1.5 hours for the interview as this will include a tour.
* At the application stage we will be assessing the Personal Statement and CV.
* The interview will consist of a combined Behavioural and Technical interview questions. At the interview stage we will be assessing the 4 behaviours and the Technical questions.
