Design Engineer (Fluid Power/Hydraulics) Location: Dungannon, Co. Tyrone (open to this position to be based in any of our Dungannon/Dublin/Cork offices) Purpose of role: To gather relevant information, design and document fluid power/electrical solutions to meet specific customer requirements, and present this solution to the customer, supporting local sales teams. Ensure compliance with Health and Safety and other relevant regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: Work with customers and local sales teams to gather specifications for a technical solution. Create detailed designs (fluid power and/or electric) ensuring alignment with customer requirements. Support sales organisation with presentation of the solution to the customer. Clearly explain why certain design choices were made. Create 3D CAD drawings and comprehensive Bill of Materials (BoM) for the solution, detailing all required components and materials for production. Collaborate with internal Procurement team to provide accurate cost estimates for designed fluid power systems, considering costs of materials, labour, and others. Monitor production of designed fluid power systems. Create manuals and technical data sheets for designed systems in adherence to quality management processes, providing comprehensive and clear documentation for both internal and external stakeholders. Support Factory Acceptance Testing and on-site commissioning as required. Provide ad-hoc technical support to external and internal sales teams as required. This may include (but is not limited to): identifying appropriate products to solve customers technical issues, Identifying replacement products to reduce solution cost, provide (on the job) technical training to sales and/or customer staff. Experience in creating and managing detailed Bill of Materials, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Ability to provide accurate cost estimates for designed systems Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with customer and internal staff. Thorough knowledge of creating technical manuals and data sheets. Capability to adapt to evolving requirements and industry standards Have a clear understanding of Health and Safety requirements Take personal responsibility to deliver results Demonstrate resilience and drive.
