Position Summary:

* Working Hours: Rotating day & night shifts (days, nights, off)

Our Story: At McVitie’s, we’ve been crafting the UK’s favourite biscuits and cakes since [year]. Our Manchester factory produces products like Jaffa Cakes, Digestives, Hobnobs, and Penguin. Owned by pladis, a leading snacking company with brands including McVitie’s, Ulker, and Godiva.
About the role: Our Manchester site is undergoing significant investment, welcoming new products like Club and Gold Bar. We are hiring production/operators to support this transition. Key responsibilities include:
* Reactive fault-finding and engineering skills
* Supporting planned shutdowns to improve efficiency
* Collaborating with managers and engineering teams
* Operating and leading complex processes and equipment
* Mechanical changeovers and machine setup
* Maintaining food safety, hygiene, health & safety, and housekeeping standards

Essential Criteria:
* Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, or food industry
* Technical understanding of machinery
* Knowledge of GMP and safety procedures
* Teamwork and positive attitude towards change
* Autonomous working, root cause analysis, effective communication
* Flexible approach to a fast-paced environment
Desired Criteria:
* Understanding of HACCP
* NVQ in Lean Manufacturing
* Trainer qualification
