JOB DESCRIPTION We are looking for a “Hands-On” IT Manager who is keen to find an opportunity to work within the commercial airline training sector. No two days are the same in pilot training and the ideal candidate will be dynamic and able to adapt. You will report into the CTO and be responsible for one direct report. This role will support a multi-site infrastructure with 100% cloud-based IT systems. The perfect candidate will be experienced supporting the whole suite of Microsoft 365 Apps, CRM systems, and Ubiquiti Unifi infrastructure. Training will be given for our sector-specific flight scheduling SaaS platforms in use across operations in Oxford, UK and Alhama de Murcia, Spain. ROLE OVERVIEW The Oxford IT Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational management of cybersecurity, Microsoft 365 systems and Ubiquiti network infrastructure at Leading Edge Aviation’s multi-site Oxford Campus. They will assume responsibility for managing the IT resources, budget and daily IT operations while supporting the CTO in delivering secure, digital-first approach to flight training. This role would suit a recent Microsoft Certified Professional (with proven experience managing Intune, and PowerApps) looking for their first opportunity in management who are keen to develop and create their own business solutions for the company. ROLE DUTIES Infrastructure & Architecture Multi-Site infrastructure management of Oxford sites and potential opportunities to support projects at our Spanish Academy. Provide hands-on technical support for a Ubiquiti Unifi switching, WiFi and CCTV infrastructure Supplier Management of ISPs, Managed Print Services and Teams Phone Systems Cloud Backup, Restore and Data Loss Protection. IT Systems & Cyber Security Maintain Cyber Essentials Plus certification Quarterly Cybersecurity training campaigns are curated and targeted to staff and students Microsoft 365 Intune management – Compliance target 95% Responsible for ensuring the Cyber Emergency Response Plan remains up to date and table-top simulations are scheduled and conducted annually. Ensure Microsoft Security Score – KPI target (80%) Management & Development Architectural responsibility to develop and support business processes that utilise the PowerApps platform to deliver digital transformation within the academy CRM support (ideally Zoho) Monthly Reporting of KPIs to peers within the Leadership Team and Quarterly to the Board of Directors, to enable data-driven decision making and collaboration when required. Service Delivery incorporating best ITIL Framework, Identity & Access, Change Management, etc. Line manager duties to include but not limited to : Develop and manage direct reports to nurture their skillset to work within the needs of the academy. Governance Meetings, Monthly 1-1s, Weekly IT Operations, Monthly Leadership, Bi-Annual Performance reviews. Required Proven ability to manage third-party IT providers and drive IT strategy within a business. Excellent customer focus with Hands-on experience in IT user support. Strong knowledge of Windows 11 Operating Systems, Autopilot, Office 365 and Microsoft Intune. Proficient in Microsoft Entra and Purview for security and compliance with Microsoft 365 The role is on full-time basis and the successful candidate will be subject to a DBS check (for air-side access) Desirable Experience of supporting IT in a multi-site SME. Experience and Certification with Microsoft Power Apps, Power BI and Power Automate.
