Spire South Bank Hospital has an opportunity for an experienced Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly and welcoming team, on a full-time basis. The suitable candidate will be working across the Outpatient Department and the Eye Centre.
Duties and responsibilities:
In this role, you will support in assessing patients' health and well-being across a complex and changing caseload, assisting in the delivery of care to meet the patient's needs. You will actively promote best practice and contribute towards quality improvements, collect, collate and organise data, interpret all of the information and make a justifiable assessment, making this available to relevant others.
1. To assist the qualified nursing staff, under their supervision, in providing a high quality, comprehensive nursing service to all patients and users.
2. As a HCA, duties will include routine tasks related to the delivery of care to ensure our patient's health and well-being.
3. Contributing to the support and monitoring of patients.
4. Identifying and reporting any significant changes that might affect the patient's health and well-being to the appropriate person.
5. Assisting with the movement of patients in line with clinic policies.
6. Liaising with other departments and healthcare professionals on a day-to-day basis.
Who we're looking for:
1. Previous experience of working as an HCA (or equivalent) in a hospital environment.
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Experience in: ECGs, taking blood/blood pressures and patient observations.
4. Good teamwork ethic.
5. Enthusiastic and energetic professional.
6. NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care/Care Certificate/NVQ Level 3 is desirable but not essential.
