Music Teacher Required - Secondary School in Lambeth - January 2025 Start A vibrant secondary school in the culturally rich borough of Lambeth is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring Music Teacher to join their thriving Performing Arts department. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in January 2025. The Role: The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Music across Key Stages 3 and 4. Key responsibilities include: Planning and delivering engaging and innovative lessons that meet the requirements of the national curriculum and foster students' musicality, creativity, and appreciation for diverse musical genres and traditions. Creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation, performance, and the development of musical skills in areas such as singing, instrumental playing, music theory, and composition. Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback, and implementing differentiated learning strategies to cater to diverse learning needs and musical abilities. Leading and directing musical ensembles, such as choirs and instrumental groups, providing students with opportunities to perform and develop their musical talents. Collaborating with colleagues within the Performing Arts department to develop and enhance the curriculum, share best practices, and contribute to the school's musical culture through concerts and performances. The Successful Candidate will have: A degree in Music or a related field. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification. A strong understanding of the KS3 and KS4 Music curriculum. Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for music education. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. Experience teaching a range of musical instruments and/or vocal techniques.
