Role: Senior Portfolio Analyst

Pay Rate: Competitive Market Rate
Hours per week: 37 hours per week
Contract Length: Initially 18 months
Location: Reading, hybrid working – minimum 3 days per week onsite
The Senior Portfolio Analyst will conduct complex analyses to monitor governance, reporting, activities, budgets, and risks across the organisation's portfolios. This role requires evaluating data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities, while recommending actions to mitigate risks and leverage opportunities. The analyst will highlight interdependencies and conflicts between ongoing operations and the portfolio, suggesting remedial actions to resolve them
Candidates should have at least 1-2 years of development experience, including a minimum of one year with Power BI development, and a good understanding of SharePoint, especially in creating and manipulating lists.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead reporting from programmes and projects and provides analysis, insight, and recommendation of decisions for improved of performance of the portfolio.
Support the PMO Service Leads to communicate and build commitment to a shared vision and sense of purpose.
Recognise and track interdependencies.
Monitor portfolio risks (threats and opportunities) and escalate as appropriate.
Use programmatic data develop predictive analytics to optimise project performance.
Key requirements:
Minimum of 1 year of development experience with Power BI
Knowledge of SharePoint, including creating and manipulating SharePoint lists
General knowledge and use of the Microsoft Office package
Strong stakeholder management skills at all levels (internal and external), both written and verbal
Experience in a governmental organisation is highly desirable but not essential
Ability to transfer skills across different sectors; no specific sector experience required.
