Job Title: Electrical & Instrumentation Technician
We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join our Engineering team. As a key member of the team, you will have the opportunity to develop and grow with our business as we repurpose the Shotton Mill site and construct the UK's largest state-of-the-art containerboard machine and tissue machines.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide specialist engineering support to manufacturing production lines, including Biofuel Power plant, Waste Wood processing plant, Effluent treatment plant, Tissue Machines, MRRF recycling facility, and support systems.
* Respond to plant breakdowns with the Automation team, methodically diagnosing faults to ensure equipment is running again in a timely manner.
* Utilize technical training to participate in root cause investigations, identify solutions, and implement solutions.
* Commission support for small and major projects, such as Biomass treatment, CHP, and Low-pressure condensing turbine plant.
* Conduct routine work, including instrument calibrations, visual routes, electrical safety checks, fire system function checks, periodic electrical safety inspections.
* Maintain and update electrical and instrumentation documentation.
Professional Requirements:
You must have completed a 4+ year Apprenticeship scheme and hold an HNC level or above qualification in Electrical/Electronic/Instrumentation or equivalent. Fluency in English (speaking and writing) is essential.
Specialist Skills:
* Ability to interpret P&ID, electrical schematic, and control loop diagrams.
* Experience with AC or DC inverter drives, fault finding, commissioning, and programming.
* Maintenance and calibration of instrumentation equipment.
* Knowledge of PLC's and DCS programming/modifications/improvements.
* Self-starter with strong teamwork and communication skills.
* Ability to adapt to changing environments and prioritize tasks effectively.
* Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
Working Conditions:
You will work on-site within the Utilities production area and may be required to travel both within the UK and overseas for further development opportunities.
Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
