Position Overview:
Optimas is looking for an experienced Preventative Maintenance Technician on a permanent basis to help the Company achieve increased efficiency and productivity, as well as respond to machine breakdowns as they happen. The role is designed to support the Production Department in all aspects of preventative and reactive maintenance, with a focus on reducing machine downtime.
Main Responsibilities:
* Carrying out routine PM programmes accepted as PM Dept.’s responsibility through liaison with Departmental Supervisors.
* Carrying out emergency repairs to plant and equipment as a priority.
* General machining, fitting, and design.
* Maintaining an adequate P.M. stores and records of P.M. work carried out within the Company’s CMMS.
* Communicating all problems and other work-related issues with the supervisor.
* Assisting with project work aimed at the continuous improvement of production plant and equipment and operational methods to achieve increasing productivity and zero defects.
* Identifying cost savings, quality issues, production issues, and Health and Safety concerns.

Skills and Qualifications:
* Eagerness to learn and develop a career within Preventative Maintenance.
* All-round hands-on practical experience/skill and success in production machinery maintenance, preferably in cold forging/fastener environment, but at least with heavy industrial equipment.
* A comprehensive knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and lubrication systems is necessary.
* Fault detection/repairs to mechanical, hydraulic & pneumatic machinery and equipment.
* Sheet metal work/welding preferred.
* Reading Engineering drawings & Technical drawings.
* Good communicator and Team player.
* Technically intuitive - Ability to learn new systems quickly.
