Our client is an established main contractor, looking for a Senior Estimator to join their Social Housing Refurb/Regeneration team, based in Kent or Greater Borough of London. Role Overview: Due to expansion within the refurbishment team, our client is looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to report directly to the Head of Estimating and help mentor junior staff. You will manage tenders for social housing projects, including materials, kitchens, bathrooms, and more. Project values can vary from £500K up to £200M frameworks. Experience with main contractors in social housing regeneration/maintenance contracts is essential. Key Responsibilities: Estimating for refurb projects for social housing refurb, regeneration, maintenance contracts frameworks. Proactively taking a lead in preparing the quantitative aspects of tenders, PQQ and bid submissions. Collaborate with commercial and operational teams to deliver winning solutions. Prepare builders quantities from drawings and specifications. Assess risks, develop cost models, and manage supply chain relationships. Oversee tender processes, ensuring timely and accurate documentation. Coach and mentor junior team members while managing team performance. Actively participate in the adjudication process, ensuring tenders are accurately prepared and presented as required. Attend meetings such as mobilization meetings, handover meetings, design meetings, bid meetings. Ensure tender programmes, design information and methods of construction are developed with the Planning and Technical Teams. Deputise in the absence of the Estimating Manager attending meetings, preparing reports etc. as required. Qualifications/Skills: Must have experience working for a Main Contractor within the Social Housing Refurb, Maintenance or Regeneration projects. Relevant degree or equivalent with min. 5 years of estimating experience. Proven success in winning profitable contracts. Proficient in Microsoft Office and particularly Excel Estimating software packages. Strong commercial, contractual, and construction knowledge. Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills. Strong practical knowledge of construction work types and methods. Good legal/contractual knowledge Proven track record in the development of cost models and predicted life cycle costs. Awareness of commercial aspects including standard forms of contracts (NEC, TPC2005, JCT, PPC2000) Conflict management and assist with dispute resolution. Full driving license.
