We are seeking a fun, motivated, and enthusiastic Nursery Manager for our beautiful small setting in Dudley, based in a family hub. Our nursery has great potential, and we are looking for a special person to be part of the senior management team to help the nursery grow from a term-time only setting to full day care over time. Our current staff team is excited about the future and looks forward to welcoming a new manager to steer the development journey ahead.
PURPOSE OF JOB:
1. To manage the small early years team and ensure the delivery of high-quality integrated education and care for 0-5 year olds.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
This job is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. In accordance with the Police Act, the successful candidate must be able to obtain a satisfactory enhanced criminal record disclosure to be appointed to this post. A criminal record check will be undertaken prior to confirmation of appointment.
MAIN ACTIVITIES:
1. To be responsible for and oversee the day-to-day management, staffing, organization, and running of the setting.
2. To be responsible for day-to-day financial systems directly relating to the provision.
3. To be responsible for admissions in line with the admissions policy, growing occupancy levels to full capacity.
4. To work with other professionals to support high-quality services for parents and children in the local area.
5. Promote the safeguarding and welfare of the children, staff, and parents/carers.
6. To develop the childcare provision to meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
7. To lead on ensuring the staff team and provision are ready for Ofsted inspections and action any recommendations made by the inspector.
8. To ensure that Health, Safety, and welfare requirements are met.
9. To promote, attend, and represent the provision at appropriate events, conferences, seminars, training, and meetings.
10. To be responsible for the recruitment and management of the early years staff team, including induction, supervision, and supporting their access to training and development opportunities.
11. To be responsible for monitoring students and volunteers in the daycare provision.
12. To lead the staff team in ensuring genuine partnership with parents and carers, providing or facilitating support where needed, and promoting parental involvement in their children’s learning.
13. To develop and implement policies and procedures for the childcare provision, ensuring policies are in place to promote the smooth operational running of the facility.
14. To receive and deal with complaints positively in accordance with procedures.
15. To produce reports and statistical information as required, maintaining high standards of accuracy and confidentiality in record-keeping.
16. To undertake any other duties that are commensurate with the grade and responsibility of the Nursery Manager position.
Essential
* Two work references will be requested before employment.
* You will have an Enhanced (Portable) DBS already in place, subscribing to the update service.
Qualifications:
* Minimum S/NVQ Level 3 in Child Care + Education or equivalent.
* Hold or be working towards a relevant management and leadership qualification level 3 or above.
Experience:
* 2 years post-qualifying experience with some management experience. Ofsted experience desirable.
* Experience of working in early years with children under 5 years.
Competencies/Personal Attributes:
* Knowledge of child development and curriculum planning.
* Ability to formulate operational plans.
* Sound knowledge of regulatory body.
* Current First Aid Certificate (desirable).
* Ability to plan rotas.
* Ability to manage and monitor staff performance, especially new staff and students, including leave and absence.
* Ability to ensure effective child development monitoring.
* Experience of administrative recording systems.
* Experience of recruitment, interviewing, monitoring staff development, and evaluating training needs.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
* Sound knowledge of regulations in relation to Child Protection/Safeguarding children.
* Sound knowledge of SEND and supporting children with additional needs.
* Food Hygiene Certificate.
* Understanding or appreciation of the importance of equal opportunities in the workplace.
* Experience of managing complaints procedures.
* Experience of managing grievance and disciplinary matters.
* Ability to organize and lead staff meetings.
* Experience of marketing.
* Numeracy equivalent of Level 2 functional skill or Maths GCSE/Standard Grade at C or above.
* Literacy equivalent of Level 2 functional skill or English Language GCSE/Standard Grade at Grade C or above.
* Computer literacy equivalent to Information Communication Technology of Level 2 functional skill or GCSE/Standard Grade at C or above.
* Ability to understand and support the company in managing budgets effectively.
* Effective communicator.

* Clean driving license.
* Competence to work to Regulatory Body Standards and Company Policies.
* Professional approach to parents.
