GSL Education are seeking enthusiastic and skilled Cover Supervisors to join secondary schools across Worksop starting immediately. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for those with experience working with young people or for individuals exploring a career in teaching. As a Cover Supervisor (CS), you will take responsibility for delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the regular teacher. Your role will involve supervising students, ensuring that they remain focused and engaged with their work, and maintaining classroom discipline in line with school policies. If you are confident, adaptable, and passionate about education, we would like to hear from you Cover Supervisor Responsibilities: Supervise and manage classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task with pre-set activities. Create a supportive and positive learning environment for all students. Manage behaviour effectively in line with school policies. Assist students with their work and provide guidance where necessary. Support the smooth running of the school by covering lessons across various subjects. Liaise with teaching staff to ensure continuity and maintain high standards in the classroom. Provide feedback on the day’s activities to the regular classroom teacher or senior staff. Deliver instructions clearly and ensure that students understand the tasks at hand. Report any safeguarding or behavioural concerns to the appropriate school staff. Collaborate with other staff to support the wider needs of the school, including during exams and special events. Requirements for a Cover Supervisor: Experience working with young people in an educational, coaching, or mentoring capacity as a Cover Supervisor is needed. CACHE Level 3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or childcare is advantageous. A degree in Education, Psychology or in a similar field. A confident and professional approach, with the ability to manage classroom behaviour. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Adaptability and a proactive attitude to support varying classroom environments. A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies. An enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willing to apply for one.
