Main duties of the job
Are you passionate about education and development within the operating theatre environment? Do you have extensive theatre experience and a desire to shape the next generation of theatre professionals? If so, we want to hear from you!
We are looking for a dedicated and dynamic Clinical Practice Facilitator to join our small, friendly education team within Women's Health. Your primary focus will be supporting Gynae, Breast, and Maternity Theatres. This is a unique opportunity to combine your clinical expertise and teaching skills to enhance patient care while fostering the growth and development of our theatre team.
This varied and engaging role is crucial in ensuring that staff are equipped with the skills and knowledge to deliver an excellent patient experience at every stage of care. To succeed, you will need leadership abilities, innovative thinking, and the flexibility to adapt to service needs. We require candidates to hold a recognised teaching or mentorship qualification and have substantial experience within the theatre setting. Knowledge of Women's Health is desirable but not essential.
Experience in supporting junior staff and students as a practice supervisor or assessor would be an advantage.

Job responsibilities
1. Teaching & Training: Delivering hands-on clinical education to staff, ensuring competency-based learning and assessments align with hospital guidelines.
2. Theatre Support: Working alongside learners in theatre, demonstrating best practices in infection control, surgical procedures, and patient care.
3. Professional Development: Organising training sessions, workshops, and simulations to enhance skills and confidence.
4. Flexibility & Adaptability: Adjusting to changing schedules, covering different perioperative roles, and providing training across and within the Women's Health Education Team.
5. Collaboration & Leadership: Working with theatre teams to uphold best practices, support policy development, and drive quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications / training required
* Qualification and experience in adult education and in health care settings.
* Educated to Master's Degree level or an equivalent level of experience.
* Higher education institute approved course in supporting learners in practice. Provide evidence of supporting a range of learners in practice and supporting colleagues to promote effective training in practice.
* Relevant clinical / education courses.
Previous or relevant experience necessary
* Experience in asthma care including in the field of paediatric practice.
* Able to deliver SACT independently.
* Evidence of clinical leadership ability.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* Evidence of utilising evidence in practice.
* Broad range of post graduate experience.
* Evidence of staff development and succession planning.
