Head of Finance, Performing Arts Company, West End London, £50-55k
A leading performing arts organisation is seeking a visionary Head of Finance to drive its financial health and strategy. This is a pivotal role, requiring a strong leader with exceptional financial acumen to support the organisations artistic goals and operational priorities. Reporting to COO and acccountable for Finance Manager and Finance Business Partner.
About the Role
You’ll lead the strategic and operational financial functions, from overseeing budgeting and forecasting to ensuring compliance with financial regulations. You will collaborate closely with the Executive Team and Finance Committee, providing key insights to aid decision-making, scenario modeling, and financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the organisation’s mission.
* Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and tax compliance, including Theatre Tax Relief.
* Lead the preparation of statutory accounts and financial reporting for multiple entities.
* Provide financial insights and support strategic planning, overseeing audits and external reporting.
* Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
What We’re Looking For
* Qualifications: Chartered Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent) with a degree in finance or related field.
* Experience: Proven track record in financial leadership, preferably within the arts or cultural sector.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial analysis, forecasting, and management software; expert use of Excel.
* Communication: Ability to translate complex financial data for non-financial stakeholders and influence decisions with clarity.
* Organisational Skills: Efficient, deadline-driven, and adept at prioritising tasks in a dynamic environment.
