Job description
We are looking for an ambitious, experienced Quantity Surveyor with a proven ability to get stuck straight into the job at hand. Based full-time at our head office in Kings Langley, you will be also required to attend construction sites within the M25 as and when necessary for the demands of the role.
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in the construction industry, managing all costs related to building projects. You will ensure that projects are completed within budget and meet quality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Attending sites to estimate
* Accurately review tender documents and drawings, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation as per NRMs
* Attending pre-contract meetings and liaise with Projects team
* Monitoring site activity and variations
* Managing multiple projects at a time
* Establishing and building good relationships with clients
* Prepare prices and forecast for the project
* Source construction and specialist materials costs as required.
* Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly
* Procure contractors and/or subcontractors who will work on the construction of the project
* Measure and value the work done on site
* Liaise with the client and other construction professionals, such as loss adjusters, site engineers etc.
* Compile and draft reports as and when required
Key Skills and Experience
* Good numeracy
* A good working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Project, and the ability to learn how to use specialist software
* Possess a high attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to identify missing items within specifications or drawings
* Minimum 5 years’ experience
* Educated to degree level preferred but not essential
* Excellent planning and organisational skills
* Effective time management skills
* Excellent communication and IT skills
* Experience managing multiple jobs at one time
* Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
* The ability to negotiate
* Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £50,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
