INTERNAL ONLY TO NORTH CUMBRIA INTEGRATED CARE NHS FOUNDATION TRUST (NCIC) EMPLOYEES
The post holder will be responsible for all aspects of quality management directly supporting the departments Quality Manager. This will include managing production inputs/outputs (including prioritising/reorganising work as appropriate), responding to ad hoc questions and concerns from decontamination scientists and generally ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
To be responsible for the daily management of and compliance to the Quality System and ensuring department staff carry out tasks in compliance to ISO13485:2016.
To participate in the provision of specialised decontamination of medical devices services contributing to the clinical care of the patient.
To perform a full range of decontamination duties, and be accountable for work area within the department, by maintaining and calibrating specialist surgical equipment for use on patients.
Manage decontamination records in own work area.
Interpret and review technical data and production reports.
Provide a high quality and timely service to all customers.
Supervise, organise and allocate work and/or train less experienced/qualified staff.
To assist with the development of the Department’s Standard Operating Procedures in accordance with Quality Management Systems and ensure staff compliance to them.
Plan your own workload and work with minimal managerial direction.
The role routinely involves exposure to blood and body fluids.

Standard Check: £18 + Administration cost of £3.85 = £21.85. Deducted at £6.85 from 1st month salary and £5 deducted from salary over following 3 months.
Enhanced Check: £38 + administration cost of £3.90 = £41.90. Deducted at £11.90 from 1st month salary and £10 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

Person specification
Qualifications
* Experience to NVQ3 through decontamination training and non routine experience applied training to Foundation degree/diploma in medical device decontamination or equivalent experience
* Chartered member of Institute of Decontamination Sciences
Knowledge & Experience
* Knowledge of decontamination specific procedures and policies
* Understanding of Quality Management processes
* Understanding of Health and Safety processes
* Practical experience in decontamination
* Knowledge and experience of supervision and training less experienced/qualified staff
