In our cybersecurity team, you’ll be helping to safeguard the financial system on which millions of people depend.
You’ll be making banking more secure by designing, implementing, and operating controls to manage cybersecurity risk. You’ll help define HSBC Group cyber security standards, deliver Global Security Operations and Threat management services, provide round-the-clock monitoring and security incident response services, and oversee Network/Application/Infrastructure Security. The work you do will provide assurance of the adequacy and effectiveness of security controls to Business Risk Owners.
The Lead Cybersecurity Analytics Data Acquisition Engineer will form part of the CSA Platform & Data Engineering Team, joining a global team of data technology professionals to deliver critical analytics engineering requirements for the strategic cybersecurity data lake and analytics platform.
The position is a mid-senior technical, hands-on delivery role, requiring knowledge of data engineering, cloud infrastructure and platform engineering, platform operations, and production support.

In this role you will:
* Ingest and provision raw datasets, enrich tables, and/or curate reusable data assets to enable Cybersecurity use cases
* Drive improvements in the reliability and frequency of data ingestion including increasing real-time coverage
* Support and enhance data ingestion infrastructure and pipelines
* Design and implement data pipelines that will collect data from disparate sources across the enterprise
* Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) workflows, using both advanced data manipulation tools and programmatically manipulating data throughout data flows to ensure data is available at each stage in the data flow
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
* In-depth knowledge of Data Acquisition, Cloud-based Data Pipelines (Azure preferred), and Data Transport and Cleaning
* Experience in Data Engineering pipeline automation, productionization, and optimization
* Experience programming in PowerShell, Terraform, Python, Windows command prompt, and object-oriented programming languages
* Strong scripting experience (Bash/PowerShell, Azure CLI), coding (Python, C#, Java), querying (SQL, Kusto query language) coupled with experience with software versioning control systems (e.g., GitHub) and CI/CD systems
This role can be based in Sheffield / Birmingham / Leeds.
