A school in Rawtenstall has contacted Teaching Personnel to help recruit a full-time Graduate Teaching Assistant. The school caters to 11-18 year olds with SEMH who display challenging behaviors. Therefore, the ideal candidate must be resilient, have a calm demeanor, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
The school aims to overcome barriers to the young person’s education and help support students to become more confident in themselves and in their academic ability.
This role will include:
1. Supporting a pupil on a 1:1 basis who is new to the school
2. Providing academic intervention in core subjects including English, Maths, and Science
3. Mentoring the pupil
4. De-escalating challenging situations
5. Providing positive encouragement for the pupil
6. Helping them adapt to the new school environment
Roles in schools include varied small group and/or 1:1 SEN support.
Placements available and suitable for students, graduates, and aspiring teachers. Degrees highly sought after include education-based (Health and Social etc.), psychology, and sport.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
