Daisy (11) is a lively, active little girl who lives in a busy and fun household with her 3 siblings. Daisy is a girlie girl, she loves musical, music and dancing. If you like to chat and sing you will get on like a house on fire. Daisy has cerebral palsy and epilepsy, and she is a wheelchair user. Daisy has a central line for all her nutritional requirements. It is running 14 hours overnight recording hourly of volume infused and hourly temperature checks will be required. Mum and TPN support workers carry out all the care with regards to TPN, but night carers need to ensure the line is always covered and not compromised when attached to the intravenous fluids as well as keeping a close watch for Sepsis/infection symptoms. Daisy is a little chatterbox; she is sweet and friendly, but she can present at times with challenging behaviour. We are looking for experienced Female Waking Night Carers/support workers to join Daisy's team. You will play a very active role with her at night; assisting with her night routine, encouraging a good sleep routine, making Daisy as comfortable as possible and distracting her when she is upset and unable to sleep. Daisy likes to play on her iPad, watch TV and have stories read to her at these times. A fully equipped carer's room is provided with a video monitor and heart rate monitor to allow you to keep watch on Daisy at all times. Working Hours: Week 1 Tuesday, Friday, Sunday: 7pm- 7am Week 2 Tuesday, Friday: 7pm – 7am Additional support workers needed for one Saturday every second week from 7am-7pm, with flexibility to pick up additional shifts. Rates of pay: Weekdays: £15.00 per hour Weekends: £17.00 per hour Requirements: Previous experience working with Children is essential. Previous experience with Cerebral Palsy, Autism and complex care epilepsy and challenging behaviours is essential. There is a dog in the home so the successful applicant must be comfortable working around one. The successful applicant must be flexible. A full and clean driving licence. An NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable, otherwise the applicant must be willing to undertake the Care Certificate.
