Edinburgh College is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified Senior Club and Accommodation Host.
The Club is Edinburgh College’s luxury Gym and Spa based at our Milton Road Campus. At present we are looking to add to our fantastic team with a senior role who will be a key holder within the team.
The working hours for this role are 35 hours per week. Please note, this post operates with variable Shifts Patterns – 5 over 7 days, including weekends (8:45am to 6:15pm), early (6:15am start) and evenings (9:15pm finish). There may be a requirement for other shift patterns to support the needs of the business. Depending on these patterns an additional shift allowance of 14% may be applicable for this role. This will be agreed when making an offer for employment.
We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and motivated person. As a senior Club host, you will act as the senior team member on duty and take on board the responsibilities this brings. The club operation comprises, halls of residence, gym, exercise studio, pool and wet side pool operations at the Milton Road campus.
As a member of our team you will help to ensure our members and residents achieve their goals by ensuring we operate all our facilities to the highest standards of service, comfort and safety.
The posts duties include:
1. Key holder responsibilities for club and accommodation areas – opening and securing premises at end of day
2. Fire warden for club and accommodation
3. Ensuring the team deliver an excellent level of service to all our members and residents
4. Completing daily checks of premises – health and safety and maintenance
5. Completing checks for pool and wet side environment including pool water clarity and operational maintenance
6. Supervision of junior members of club and accommodation team
7. Supervision of class instructors
8. To ensure all enquiries are answered and dealt with effectively
9. To promote and sell products for gym, leisure, accommodation and events
10. Deliver a healthy and safe environment at all times. This will include First Aid and Lifeguard cover.
11. Taking and handling of cash and electronic payments
12. Touring prospective residents, members and customers around facilities
13. Advice and enforcement of rules and procedures
14. Carrying out disciplinary process for residents in accommodation
15. Preparation of new daily initiatives and projects
16. Using Fitness knowledge to advise customers
17. Acting in the event of emergencies
Previous experience of delivering a high level of customer service, is essential. We are particularly looking for people with experience of fitness and pool operation backgrounds as this will be a primary focus within the senior role.
