New Job Interim Finance Business Partner
Duration: 3 months initially
Pay Rate: GBP500 per day (inside IR35)
Location: Coventry, Office based 3 days per week
Morson is partnering with a prominent utilities company seeking a motivated and engaging Finance Business Partner to provide commercial, operational and financial performance decision support to relevant line managers within Customer Operations and their teams, and support in the delivery of planned business performance. This role will ensure operational and financial control process compliance and be accountable for driving a performance management outcome–based culture throughout the business area.
Key Responsibilities of the Interim Finance Business Partner:
1. Provide financial support for multiple cost centres within Technology, including month end close, and promotion of effective cost control.
2. Develop, maintain and own effective working relationships with cost centre managers within area of accountability to help deliver against in–year performance targets.
3. Conduct budget process for cost centres within area of responsibility.
4. Support with annual business planning process, liaising with stakeholders to input relevant information and providing modelling.
5. Conduct detailed analysis on variances, emerging risks and opportunities, and other areas of interest, getting to the bottom of complex problems and drawing insights from complex data.
6. Prepare well–founded monthly forecasts for areas of accountability, ensuring the financial consequences of planned outputs are correctly reflected and balanced.
7. Deliver clear and accurate reporting of monthly performance to central finance and relevant stakeholders within customer operations, covering opex, capex and income.
8. Ensure accurate allocation of costs as part of annual regulatory reporting cycle, in line with regulatory accounting guidelines.
9. Create and deliver engaging presentations with little support.
10. Drive commercially beneficial decisions for the business, considering financial and non–financial aspects.
11. Understand non–financial data cost drivers and work with business to ensure integrity of data feeding into reporting.
12. Ensure recharge rates are correct for jobs or projects charged to IRE/Capex.
13. Provide ad hoc modelling and analysis upon request.
Requirements:
1. Qualified Accountant.
2. Proven experience in forecasting, budgeting, and business partnering.
3. Strong knowledge of month–end processes and reporting.
4. Expertise in analysing budget reports and managing prepayments.
5. Familiarity with operational expenditure (OPEX) and capital expenditure (CAPEX).
6. Substantial finance experience, including exposure to business operations.
7. Strong track record of taking lead in diagnosing business issues and working with the business to deliver performance improvements.
8. Ability to articulate recommendations which will enable leadership teams to make strategic and operational decisions based on reliable and accurate information.
9. Ability to build strong and credible working relationships across the organisation.
10. Strong MS Office, SAP ECC and BI capabilities.
