Job Title: Industrial Electrician – Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer Location: Newport, Wales Pay Rate: £15 – £19 per hour Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent Hours: 55 hours per week Our client, a growing leader in the Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) sector, operates advanced facilities that process waste into clean energy for the cement industry. With their new site near Cardiff now operational and further expansion planned, they’re looking to add an experienced Industrial Electrician to their maintenance team. The Role: As a multiskilled engineer with an electrical bias, you’ll be responsible for keeping the site’s machinery running efficiently. You'll work on both high and low voltage systems, assist with fault finding (including PLCs), and support mechanical maintenance when needed. This is a hands-on role where safety, reliability, and teamwork are essential. Key Duties: Carrying out electrical maintenance and repairs across plant equipment Diagnosing faults on circuits, control panels, and PLC systems Supporting mechanical breakdowns when required Performing both planned and reactive maintenance Working safely and ensuring compliance with HSE standards Helping to plan and prioritise work alongside the wider team What We’re Looking For: Previous experience in an industrial electrical maintenance role NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent Confident with high/low voltage systems and electrical schematics Good understanding of mechanical systems and problem-solving Flexible approach to working hours and team-based tasks PLC experience is a strong advantage This is a great opportunity for an Electrician with industrial experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
