More information is available on our Career site at www.fife.gov.uk/jobs/supportingstatement Job Details You will be responsible for the supervision and management of resources of gas and subcontractors within Building Services, Fife wide, in a variety of domestic properties within a construction environment. You will ensure that employees discharge their duties in accordance with legislation, Council and Service policies and procedures. Plan and allocate resources to meet daily workloads and reallocate in response to contingencies as they arise. Ensure employees are appropriately deployed and equipped so to safely carryout “gas work” and supervise their daily activities. You will provide leadership and direction to allocated employees, including regular meetings with employees in a leading role. You will be responsible for all aspects of employee management including ’toolbox talks’ maintaining attendance management targets in accordance with Council policies and procedures, absence notification procedures, return to work interviews, review meetings, visits, and calls. Administration of annual leave, monitor and maintain standards of conduct, assisting in disciplinary and management investigations. Assist in the investigation and resolution of complaints. Respond to customer enquiries and requests including personal visits and calls as required. Undertaking gas quality audits, including, post inspections, pre-inspections, and on-site assessments of gas engineers in relation to gas work which will require the use of tools and testing equipment. The Person Educated to SCQF level 7, which includes HNC or SVQ level 3 or equivalent Conversant with Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 Experience in a Building Construction Contracting environment Current ACS Domestic Gas Qualifications: CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1 MET2, CKR1 or equivalent Must have experience of managing and supervising employees in a gas service, maintenance, and installation environment. You must have the ability to work with minimum supervision and exercise judgment and initiative. You will be a team worker and motivator with excellent communication skills and possess a can-do’ approach to help resolve problems. The ability to travel throughout Fife is essential. You should be able to provide regular and effective service.
