Are you looking to develop into CNC Machining but haven't got enough experience or qualifications for some of the other positions? For this role, we're looking for people who have some experience in manufacturing who are keen and willing to train.
Responsibilities:
1. Review samples, drawings or instructions to understand specifications of output
2. Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping
3. Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job
4. Select appropriate machines (e.g. lathes) and position or load material for a job
5. Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues
6. Determine and program size of batches and speed of machine
7. Monitor output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects
Attributes:
1. Vocational school or apprenticeship preferred
2. Excellent manual dexterity, accuracy and attention to detail
3. Great verbal and written communication skills
4. Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.)
5. Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements
6. Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
7. Knowledge of metal properties and other materials
8. Outstanding mathematical skills and analytical abilities
9. Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items
