Maintenance Engineer - Newry - Days - Salary ~£45000

Your New Role
Working as a Maintenance Engineer you will provide support to a multidisciplined maintenance team to optimise company assets in a cost-effective manner whilst ensuring compliance with all appropriate legislative requirements within a CGMP environment. To work closely with maintenance management and contribute to the day-to-day decisions and activity critical to the efficient running of the manufacturing sites. This role will require ongoing engagement with various departments and stakeholders as well as a good technical understanding of site plant and equipment.
Whilst on shift your core duties will include, but are not limited to:
1. Provide technical leadership to the maintenance team to ensure that plant and equipment is maintained to the highest standards, therefore minimising downtime and maximising uptime.
2. Instil root cause analysis techniques to breakdowns; implement corrective action plans and/or contingency plans and communicate to the site management team.
3. Ownership of planned maintenance schedules for manufacturing equipment to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and optimise maintenance costs.
4. Ensure that Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) are current, technically correct, and up to date and reflect current planned maintenance program. Ensure that all regulatory and audit requirements associated with the engineering department are met.
5. Ensure compliance to Health, Safety and Environmental regulations and policies pertaining to the maintenance department.
6. Establish 3rd party service contracts and service level agreements for site utility systems.
7. Management of 3rd party contractors ensuring risk assessments, method statements and all additional information is provided prior to commencement of work on-site.
8. Any other duties as deemed necessary by line management.
What You'll Need To Succeed
In order to be considered for the role you will need to demonstrate the following skills, experience and qualifications:
ESSENTIAL
1. Qualified in a relevant plant engineering discipline (City & Guilds, BTEC or Degree).
2. Minimum of 3+ years post apprenticeship experience or 1 year post graduate experience.
3. Strong computer skills and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office with the ability to generate reports.
DESIRABLE
1. 3rd level qualification in a related technical discipline.
2. IOSH or NEBOSH qualified or working towards.
3. 5 + years of supervisory or technical leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
