My client is an automotive-based company who works with leading manufacturers, based in Weston Super Mare.

We are looking to recruit an Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance Engineer who can also look after the facilities.
The role is vital to maintaining and improving the efficiency, development, and progress of the manufacturing process lines and facilities.
Working closely with other technical professionals, you'll improve production facilities, reduce the incidence of machine breakdowns, and provide input to improve overall reliability and safety of plant, personnel, and production processes.
Reporting to the Commercial Engineering Manager, the candidate is required to support the business in the following activities:
Duties
1. Complete daily TPM activity ensuring accurate records of work done and parts used are maintained to reduce unplanned downtime.
2. Attend critical equipment breakdowns to diagnose faults and ensure production is resumed as soon as possible.
3. Assist with production line moves.
4. Supervise contractors when on site, completing induction (pre-works) and snagging (post-works).
5. Support production areas with replacement tooling as required, offering design improvements to eliminate failure modes.
6. Liaise with suppliers to source required components at best cost/lead time.
7. Be part of the team responsible for the open-up and lock-up of the site.
8. Contribute to clearing of open 'Work Service Request' tickets in a timely manner.
Skills/Experience
1. Excellent design and manufacture skills including welding and general fabrication.
2. Be able to manufacture parts on manual machine tools, i.e. Lathe, Vertical Mill (desirable).
3. Knowledge of engineering materials to allow selection of appropriate materials for the job.
4. Experience of working with contractors and supervision of installation of equipment.
5. The ability to liaise with manufacturing personnel to understand requests for implementation of new processes and improvements.
6. The ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
7. A knowledge of the function of automotive engines and transmissions is preferable.
8. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
9. Knowledge/experience of programming and using CNC machines would be advantageous.
10. Worked with planned maintenance systems in a busy environment.
11. Knowledge of health and safety to ensure work is carried out in a safe way.
12. Experience of electrical fault diagnosis on equipment is desirable.
13. Technical drawing/CAD skills preferable.
14. Be able to run and adapt existing Planned Maintenance system to strike optimum balance between Maintenance hours vs number of unplanned breakdown events.
15. Be able to carry out risk assessments for Maintenance and Factory Services activity and assess Contractor RAMS to ensure suitability.
16. Be able to design and manufacture fixtures and equipment to assist production.
17. Experience of mechatronic control systems would be an advantage.
18. Constantly review and control Critical Spares stock.
19. Act as custodian of the facilities, ensuring repairs and upgrades are completed correctly.
20. Experience of identifying and instructing contractors to complete required works on projects and the facilities.
Additional info:
Hours are a 9-day fortnight, so 5 days one week, 4 days the next, averaging a 37-hour week.
22.5 days holidays (as every other week a day off) plus bank holidays.
£35k-£40k.
