Job Description
Equifind are working with an agile fast growing venture fund who are looking to hire a Commercial Fund Controller into the team. To date they now boast close to $2.2bn AUM, and are scaling rapidly, with headcount now being added across the board.
Since inception investments have been made across life sciences, technology, space tech and climate tech businesses throughout Europe and the US, and they have a large pipeline of further investments. They operate on an incredibly lean team with 27 heads across the company, meaning you’ll get to work hand in hand with the founders and investment team.
The purpose of the role is to drive all deliverables on a finance perspective, including valuation of investments & portfolio companies, fund reporting, closing processes on investments, investor relations and through to building out the business for long term growth.
Key deliverables:
* Work with Fund administrators to ensure the timely delivery of the day-to-day activity of the funds and various holding structures, including production of quarterly investor reports and accounts, partner statements, capital calls or distribution notices
* Support on the quarterly valuation process and Valuation Committee process
* Prepare the portfolio review process, analysing underlying investments and budgets, in articulation with the Investment Team
* Working with IR to respond to investor queries about their holdings, performance, distributions and other ad-hoc questions in a timely manner
* Review of regulatory filings and tax returns prepared by administrators and advisors
* Lead due diligence on new investments, coordinating with legal team, tax advisors and the investment team
* Oversee and preparation of valuations for portfolio companies
* Spearhead further fundraising, including dealing with internal and external legal teams to manage all aspects
* Lead in creating, refining and document processes that will support the firms further growth – ensuring scalable and efficient growth plans
Application criteria:
* ACCA/CIMA or ACA qualified with a minimum of 3-5 years PQE experience
* Recent experience within a venture capitalist or private equity firm
* Strong knowledge of financial principles, including analysis, reporting and financial planning
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to interpret and articulate complex financial concepts
