The Vacancy
An exciting opportunity has become available within the Home Assistance Team in the recently formed Independent Living Service at North Lincolnshire Council. The role has been created to support the existing admin team deal with the ever-increasing demands on our services.
We are looking for an individual keen to undertake a varied administrative role, supporting two busy teams, who is a good communicator and is a people person. The Home Assistance / Handyperson teams have responsibility for delivering Disabled Facilities Grants and other forms of grants / loans to help residents of North Lincolnshire adapt or improve their home. They also organise a team who install minor adaptations, low level equipment into people's homes to help them get around their properties and access facilities safely, to reduce trips and falls, plus organising for safety measures to be installed for victims of crime.
Your role within the team will include supporting the existing admin support, helping grant applicants progress their enquiries, plus organising home visits for the Handyperson team. You will work alongside all other team members, supporting them, liaising with service users, Occupational Therapists, contractors, and other services within North Lincolnshire Council. No two days are the same and without this pivotal role, the teams you support would struggle to function effectively and deliver services in a timely manner. If you are hardworking, want to make a difference and have job satisfaction, then this is the job for you. You would be based at Church Square House, Scunthorpe, with flexibility for remote working. The role does involve travelling to different locations within North Lincolnshire and a full driving licence and transport is essential.
North Lincolnshire Council has a flexible working policy which allows for and encourages home working where service delivery allows. This is a real opportunity to make a positive difference to the lives of North Lincolnshire's residents and meet the council's outcomes of being safe and well. We are a progressive employer with flexible and agile working arrangements.
