Role Overview
To carry out telephone, video, and/or face-to-face functional assessments to establish any functional restriction caused by a claimant’s health condition and/or disability and to evaluate the overall functional effects on their everyday life, following the PIP guidelines. Assessors will be expected to use DWP (Department for Work and Pensions) processes and systems and conduct high-quality assessments in an empathetic and professional manner.
Functional Assessors work on a variety of cases across a range of conditions, using clinical knowledge alongside an empathetic and curious approach, to produce accurate and detailed advice reports to enable DWP to make an appropriate decision on eligibility for benefits.

Requirements
1. A minimum of 12 months' post-qualification experience as a Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist (OTs), or Paramedic.
2. Be NMC or HCPC registered with no restrictions on practice.
3. Have a proven record of proactively engaging with relevant Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
4. Broad-ranging clinical experience across a range of conditions, including working with adults.
5. Have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills that include the ability to interact sensitively and appropriately.
6. Efficient IT skills and an ability to type notes accurately whilst conducting assessments.
