Job summary We currently have a Named Nurse Safeguarding Adult whose banding is under review to make it a higher band. The post is line manager for safeguarding adult nurses and the learning disability and autism nurses. The post oversees the patients where DoLS applications have been submitted as well as close liaison with the tissue viability nurses and ensuring reasonable adjustments are in place for those that require it as well as overseeing the domestic abuse provision and response across the Trust. It is a wide-ranging position and will suit someone who can work well under pressure and in a varied environment. Our team covers a seven-day service (9-5 hours) across five separate sites, one of which is a Trauma Centre. There is also an ophthalmology hospital and a dedicated maternity service on two of the other sites. We conduct training, safeguarding supervision; attend and co-ordinate many safeguarding meetings as well as assisting with knowledge around DoLS applications; MCA cases, best interest cases and court of protection cases. As a Named Nurse Safeguarding Adults you will also attend Safeguarding Adult Board's sub-groups alongside the other Named Professionals and engage with multi-agency audits and case reviews. You will be required to complete chronologies and internal management reviews with assistance. Main duties of the job Protecting patients from neglect and abuse is a fundamental responsibility of the Trust. The Named Nurse Adults will provide expert advice, safeguarding supervision, intervention and direction in regard to adult patients in line with the Trust safeguarding responsibilities under the Care Act (2014) and the Trust Safeguarding Adults Policy. They will liaise with internal and external agencies to ensure The Think Family ethos. They will help deliver the Violence Against Women and Girls Agenda and delivering the Deprivation of Liberty Standards agenda alongside working with modern slavery exploitation.
