Your new role
Hays Procurement are excited to be recruiting a new opportunity based in Northern Lincolnshire for an experienced Buyer for a recognised manufacturing business. The Buyer will have responsibility for maximising purchasing leverage and providing the most efficient and effective supply base to meet the needs of the business. The Buyer will provide amercial framework that allows the business operation to run at a cost base that provides the best value whilst ensuring security of supply and flexibility.
The Buyer will work closely with relevant procurement teams where applicable and establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with key internal stakeholders to gain an understanding of their needs to improve the service provided. The Buyer will liaise with key personnel to identify customer needs and agree fit for purpose specifications to achieve maximum value and manage vendor relationships in a professional and effective manner.
What you'll need to succeed
We’re looking for an experienced procurement professional, ideally with experience in the manufacturing industry, although this is not essential. Experience in planning or a services background would be advantageous.
You need to be confident with a proactive attitude. Ideally, you will be a member of CIPS, but this is not essential. You should be proactive in your approach and able tomunicate with stakeholders at all levels. With a proven ability to analyse, interpret and act upon large amounts of information along with keen attention to detail, you will also have excellent interpersonal skills: negotiation, influencing, and facilitation skills.
