Warehouse Operative (Progressing to Class 2 HGV)
As a recognised Great Place to Work, we provide our people the freedom to take ownership of their role, the opportunity to be creative, and the confidence to make decisions.
Your 12-month progression to Class 2 HGV:
Your first 6 months will vary between warehousing and deliveries in our branded vans. We will support you with your Class 3 LGV licence, and then your Class 2 licence, both of which will include practical training, a theory exam, and a practical exam prior to completion. Around the end of the 12-month period, you will be qualified to drive a Class 2 HGV and will continue to support with warehousing as needed, until such time that a Class 2 HGV role becomes available. Then you will be given priority consideration for the role.
In addition to 25 days’ holiday + bank holiday, you have the option to buy 3 more days and enjoy a Christmas shutdown. You will gain access to your healthcare cash plan, life assurance benefit (your salary x3), added convenience through online and retailer vouchers, and our Bike2Work scheme.
Your role:
1. While supporting in the Warehouse, you will typically arrange stock, retrieve customer orders, and assist with loading/unloading HGVs. Your contributions will enable us to get deliveries to customers quickly and efficiently. If you do not hold an FLT licence currently, upon successful completion of your 3-month settling-in period, we can look at options for supporting you with obtaining a licence.
2. When carrying out deliveries in our Vans, LGVs, or HGVs, you will supervise or assist with the loading of stock onto the vehicle, ensuring the load is correct and ready to be delivered, and then perform multi-drop deliveries in a timely manner. Going the extra mile in keeping our vehicles clean, driving safely, and completing a daily inspection sheet will help us maintain our excellent reputation.
3. Ultimately, we will provide you the tools to become a Class 2 HGV Driver, supporting the Warehouse team as needed, and eventually progress to Supervisor or Manager.
All you need is:
A clean and valid UK driving licence with the desire to advance your prospects! Ideally, you will have an FLT and/or Reach Truck licence or experience working in a Warehousing environment or similar (desirable).
Please ensure you are happy with the commute before applying.
