Description An opportunity has arisen for a development team leader to be based at our Distribution Centre in Corby. This challenging and interesting role will appeal to an individual with drive, determination and enthusiasm, employee engagement and development; customer relationships and growth Duties and responsibilities: • Reporting to the Shift Operations Managers • To obtain the appropriate work instructions and arrange the work organisation with the team • Motivate and manage the team to achieve, and where possible exceed, all performance objectives. • Effective management of resources to achieve KPIs (cost, quality, service, and absence). • Ensure a proactive approach to Health & Safety via risk assessment and by ensuring that warehouse team members comply with Health and Safety policies and requirements. • Produce a daily start and end of shift handover for your area of responsibility analysing your shifts position & performance. Furthermore, detailing the plan for the next shift. • Conduct regular individual reviews and where necessary agree a performance improvement plan. Ensure work meets with the agreed Primary KPI’s • On Time Loading Service Level • Pick accuracy Service Level • Review Shorts & Overs report • Management of consumables & Pallet Management Experience, skills, attributes and the person: • Experience in a warehouse environment, including detailed understanding of warehouse management systems. e.g. Manhattan • Previous successful experience of managing a team would be advantageous. • Attention to detail is key for this role as is the ability to analyse data and make recommendations. • Customer focused and able to build effective relationships with team, client and other third parties. • Experience with customer relations is desirable but not essential. • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent. • Experience of health and safety regulations in a warehouse environment. • Excellent communication skills combined with logical problem-solving skills. • Enthusiastic, committed and able to respond positively to changing demands. • Experience of using MS Office applications such as Word, Excel to an intermediate standard is an advantage.
