About the role.
As the Business Development Manager at Hydrogen, you will play a pivotal role in driving new business opportunities and growing Hydrogen's client base. This is a pure business development role, where you will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and converting leads into long-term clients. You will be a self-starter, generating and nurturing your own leads while collaborating with the Senior Leadership Team on client pitches and contract negotiations.
Your role will extend beyond Hydrogen; you will have access to the wider PA Media Group's offerings and sales network, allowing you to create unique, integrated client solutions that our competitors can't match. This gives you a strong advantage when securing new business and driving Hydrogen's growth. You will also play a key role in raising Hydrogen's profile in the industry by actively networking, attending events, and building strong external relationships to ensure Hydrogen is front of mind for potential clients.
Key Responsibilities.
1. Lead Generation & Pipeline Management
o Identify and research potential clients, developing and executing outbound lead generation campaigns via LinkedIn, email, and networking.
o Build and maintain a structured outreach pipeline, managing the process from lead scoring and nurturing through to conversion.
o Use CRM tools to track and progress leads effectively, working with the SLT to forecast growth and set KPIs.
2. Cross-Group Commercial Development
o Collaborate with PA Media Group businesses to identify joint commercial opportunities.
o Develop strategies to combine Hydrogen's social media expertise with other group services (media, content, streaming, PR, distribution, etc.), strengthening internal relationships to facilitate knowledge sharing and unlock synergies.
3. Outreach & Relationship Building
o Create new opportunities by leveraging events, industry partnerships, and networking.
o Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, decision-makers, and potential partners, driving cross-group introductions to enhance commercial opportunities.
4. Pitching, Negotiation & Conversion
o Qualify leads and match them with the right services across Hydrogen and PA Media Group.
o Develop and deliver compelling pitches and proposals, leading contract negotiations and working with the SLT to close high-value deals.
5. Collaboration with Marketing & Leadership
o Align with Hydrogen's marketing team to optimise lead generation efforts across SEO, content marketing, paid media, and social.
o Provide insights on industry trends and competitor activity to refine Hydrogen's positioning while shaping and implementing commercial growth strategies with the leadership team.
