Our mission at St. Hilda’s East is to equip our service users with the resilience to navigate modern life. We welcome people of all ages to our large, friendly community centre in Shoreditch where we offer a wide range of activities promoting wellbeing and social connections. Our services include sensory play for Under-5’s, youth programmes, wellbeing activities for those experiencing mental health issues, bilingual advice, and activities to reduce social isolation and enhance physical and mental wellbeing for older people. We also run a day centre in Shadwell, where we care for elders from the Bangladeshi and other communities.
We are currently looking for a part-time Finance Assistant to support our small but busy finance team.
Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Finance Assistant will play a vital role in the day-to-day financial administration of the charity. You will manage transactions using QuickBooks, process invoices and payments, assist with payroll, support the preparation for audit, and maintain accurate financial records. You’ll also help us improve our financial systems as we continue to grow and adapt.
This role also includes occasional receptionist cover, so we’re looking for someone friendly, reliable and adaptable.
This job is for you, if you:
1. Have previous experience with financial administration in a small organisation.
2. Are comfortable using bookkeeping software e.g. QuickBooks.
3. Have excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills.
4. Can handle confidential information with discretion.
5. Enjoy working both independently and as part of a team.
6. Are aligned with our values and passionate about community work.
