Your new role As a Paint Shop Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the Paint Shop facility to maintain a cost-effective and efficient manufacturing process. Your key responsibilities will include daily operational supervision of a team of paint shop operatives, providing advice and guidance on all paint shop operations (blasting, prepping, painting, and general repairs), and coaching and mentoring operatives to develop their skills. You will estimate painting times, ovens, staffing requirements, and related costs to measure production and maximise efficiency. Additionally, you will ensure high standards of Health & Safety and Quality, plan workplaces to best utilise space, complete quality checks, and minimise the need for re-work. You will also liaise with management and other staff regarding Paint Shop capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate overall production processes. What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will ideally have a degree-level qualification with 2-3 years of supervisory experience in a similar industry, along with on-the-job painting experience with heavy machinery. Strong leadership and effective communication skills are essential, as well as well-developed analytical, innovative, and problem-solving abilities. Good organisational, planning, and time management skills, along with strong computer skills and competency in MS Office applications, are also required. A successful management background in a Paint Shop and a Management/Leadership Qualification would be desirable.
