Description
The key responsibilities of an Accounts Payable Clerk will include:
1. Oversee the timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices, credit notes, and payment requests in accordance with company procedures.
2. Ensure that all accounts payable transactions are accurately recorded in the accounting system and that supplier statements are reconciled.
3. Manage the payment cycle, ensuring all payments are processed on time, including early settlement opportunities to maximise cost savings.
4. Monitor and review outstanding payables and ensure that any overdue accounts are promptly addressed.
5. Develop and implement best practices to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the accounts payable function.
6. Collaborate with internal departments to resolve any invoice discrepancies or payment issues.
7. Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing reports and supporting audits.
8. Maintain and update vendor records, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
9. Manage the preparation and submission of VAT returns related to accounts payable transactions.
Profile
A successful Accounts Payable Clerk should have:
1. End to end accounts payable experience.
2. A strong understanding of accounting principles.
3. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
4. Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. The ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
Job Offer
1. A competitive salary range of £28,000 - £35,000 per annum, based on experience.
