The role
As a Senior Quality Engineer, you’ll support the delivery of one of our most important contracts on time, to the right quality, and to the planned cost. You’ll be part of a Project Quality team within the Programme Delivery Team. This exciting opportunity will suit someone who is dynamic, diligent, and tenacious with a background in improving quality implementation in organizations.
Day to day, you will provide advice, guidance, and support on all matters related to quality, ensuring outputs meet customer and regulatory requirements in a timely manner.
* Represent the customer’s interests and maintain an open and collaborative relationship.
* Provide quality input and advice throughout the project lifecycle, identifying quality risks and working to mitigate, manage, and escalate issues to programme leadership.
* Manage the non-conformance process, driving root cause analysis and prevention where appropriate.
* Oversee progress and sign off the delivery process to assure the customer that their requirements have been met.
* Lead investigations into quality escapes, managing through to preventative action using suitable tools and techniques.
* Provide Quality expertise into future business opportunities (bids and proposals).
This role is full-time, 37 hours per week, with hybrid working arrangements of 2-3 days in the office and the rest working from home.
Essential experience of the Senior Quality Engineer
* Proficient quality assurance engineer with experience in a related industry and familiarity with quality throughout a product or service delivery lifecycle.
* Previous customer-facing role or experience is beneficial.
* Experience in implementing quality improvements and encouraging cultural change within a team or organization.
* Experience auditing quality ISO9001 management systems.
* Excellent working knowledge of quality tools and problem-solving techniques, with the ability to provide guidance to others (e.g., APQP, Pareto, FMEA, 5 Whys, 8D, etc.).
* Knowledge of continuous improvement tools with examples of prior application.
Qualifications for the Senior Quality Engineer - APQP Lead
* Membership of a recognized quality institute (e.g., CQI) is desirable.
* ISO 9001 auditor preferable; training can be provided.
