Children’s Emergency Department Sister/Charge Nurse Band 7 (CED)
30hrs a week Permanent Position & Fixed term 1 year maternity leave cover commencing April 2025

Our Children’s Emergency Department treats approximately 50,000 children each year. Alongside providing emergency care for the local population we are a regional referral unit for the South West of England and one of England’s five standalone Paediatric Major Trauma Centres which covers the entire South West.
The Department has a standalone resuscitation area that can provide care for 4 patients at any time and has recently expanded to increase the main departmental area to see, treat and care for patients. The Observatory, can care for 11 patients requiring short stay observation which is managed by the Children’s Emergency Department Team

The ideal candidate for the role will: (main duties)
• As part of a team of band 7 nurses delivering 24/7 professional and clinical leadership and care and operational management of the department.
• Ensure the delivery of high quality, responsive, safe, efficient, and compassionate care.
• Support the Matron in developing the service.
• Act as a leader and role model, adopting a flexible approach in a role which encompasses leadership, management, and clinical responsibilities.
• Demonstrate expert knowledge of emergency nursing care.
