The Role As a Science Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, engaging lessons that cater to the individual needs of our students. Your responsibilities will include: Teaching and Learning Designing and delivering stimulating Science lessons for KS3 and KS4 students. Adapting lessons to meet diverse learning needs and ensuring inclusivity in the classroom. Developing and implementing Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) to support personalised learning goals. Encouraging curiosity and fostering a love for Science through hands-on activities and creative teaching methods. Curriculum and Assessment Planning and delivering lessons that align with the national curriculum and school objectives. Integrating innovative teaching strategies and utilising engaging resources. Assessing student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback, and tailoring support to help students achieve their best. Classroom Management Creating a safe, positive, and structured learning environment. Effectively managing classroom behaviour, employing strategies suited to SEN students. Collaborating with teaching assistants and specialist staff to ensure all students’ needs are met. Collaboration and Community Working closely with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to ensure holistic support for each student. Contributing to the wider school community by participating in extracurricular activities and events. Engaging in professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest practices in Science education and SEN support. What Makes a Successful Science Teacher? Qualifications and Skills Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification. Experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4. Previous experience working in a special school or supporting students with SEN (desirable). A solid understanding of SEN, including strategies to support students with Autism, SEMH, and other learning difficulties. Why choose Engage?
