We are looking for a Senior Management Accountant to deliver Accounting and Reporting Services (RTR) for Nuffield Health across all lines of business. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned finance professional to play a key role in financial planning, reporting, and decision-making. This role requires a proactive individual with a keen eye for detail and a strong commercial acumen.
Key responsibilities of our Senior Management Accountant
1. In line with the Vision for Finance and Procurement and Nuffield’s Purpose, provide support in delivering a range of Accounting and Reporting (RTR) services across Nuffield’s estate.
2. Ensure specific RTR tasks are delivered in line with the design principles approved in the Transformation program and newly established standard operating procedures.
3. Maintain effective relationships with other critical parts of the Shared Services Organisation (Process Owners, Service Management) and other Nuffield functions, especially Financial Control and Finance Business Partners.
4. Reach and maintain an appropriate level of expertise in Workday Financials to ensure the day-to-day accounting procedures are met by the technology, supporting any improvement opportunities identified for implementation.
5. Reconcile specific accounts on the Balance Sheet in line with policy.
6. Run specific month-end close processes that support the close objectives of the overall RTR team.
7. Support the delivery of a standard set of management accounts, cost centre and other key reports to the business in line with agreed service levels.
8. Provide management accounting support to discrete areas such as Inventory, Fixed Assets and Project Accounting, and establish standard ways of working.
To be successful as Senior Management Accountant you will
1. Be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
2. Have proven experience in a management accounting role.
3. Have strong analytical skills with a commercial mindset.
4. Be an excellent communicator with stakeholder management skills.
5. Be proficient in financial software and Excel.
